  • Can’t print or scan after a Windows 11 update or upgrade?
    ANS: If so, make sure you have restarted software installation at least once. To restart, click the previous window and install it from the source file.

  • Make sure your printer is compatible with Windows 11 if problems persist?
    ANS: Some HP printers may not be compatible with Windows 11 and will encounter problems when running on a Windows 11 device. To find out if your printer is supported and to find the right software driver, read one of the following support documents that corresponds to your Windows 11 version.

  • If your printer is compatible with Windows 10, download and run Print and Scan Doctor to find and repair issues?
    ANS: If the problems persist:
    1) Download and install the latest HP printer software and drivers.
    2) Reinstall the latest version of HP printing software.

    Depending on what type of HP printer software you are using, check one of these two documents if this has stopped working:
    1) The HP Solution Center service stopped
    2) HP Printer Assistant stopped working

  • If you are still facing issues and no solution works, try using System Restore. Follow the Recovery options in Windows 11 to restore the system.

  • How to download and install the latest HP Printer software and drivers?
    ANS: To enable all features supported by your printer and establish network computer connections, install the recommended HP print drivers and software.

 

 

HP frequently releases firmware updates for printer enhancements, application updates, or issue fixes. Always update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

If one method doesn’t work, try another.

  1. Update the printer firmware.
  2. Use Advanced Settings in the HP app to check for firmware updates and install.
  3. Open the HP app, then click on your printer’s icon to open the settings and toolbar.
  4. Under Advanced or Settings, click Advanced Settings to open the printer’s information.
  5. From the home page, click the Printer Update tile. If the tile is missing, click Tools > Printer Update > Firmware Update.
  6. When prompted to sign in, enter the PIN from the printer label, then click Submit. This label is usually located on the cartridge slot.

METHOD 2

You can also update the firmware directly from the printer. When connected to the internet, many HP printers support updating the firmware directly from the printer control panel.

  1. Verify that the printer is connected to a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
  2. Open the Setup, Service, or Settings menu on the Control Panel.
  3. Select Options, Printer Maintenance, or Tools.
  4. Select Web Services, Printer Updates, or LaserJet Updates.
  5. When prompted, follow the prompts to open Web Services.
  6. Select Check for Updates or similar.

METHOD 3

Download the printer firmware from the HP website

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer.
  2. Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, then enter your printer model.
  3. Select Firmware from the drivers list, click Download next to Update, and then follow the instructions.
  4. Check the status of your printer on the HP Printer Update screen.
    A) If your network printer does not display. Wait 20 seconds, then click Refresh.
    B) If the status is Ready, select the check box next to the serial number, and then click Update.
    C) If the status is Up-to-Date, your printer firmware is updated.

If your device cannot communicate with your printer, you may see a “printer offline” error. This can happen for a few different reasons but follow these simple steps and you will be back to work.

  1. Turn off your printer and disconnect from the power.
  2. Reconnect the device you want to print from and your Internet router.
  3. Turn the printer back on and try printing again.

  2. An error occurred while communicating with the HP printer.
  3. The drivers was not found.
  4. Computer not found.
  5. Scanning to computer currently does not work.
  6. Scan to the computer does not work.
  7. The scan failed.
  8. The print failed.
  9. The scanner was not found.
  10. Scanner inaccessible.
  11. The scanner drivers failed to start.
